About This Blog

I like reading in public so other people can watch me read.

I moved to New York over a year ago, and yet not a day goes by when I don't think about my home back in Orange County, California. Now don't get me wrong, I don't regret my decision to move here at all: living in New York has proven to be the most rewarding, challenging, and beautiful things I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Still, I love where I am from, and the more I interact with people from all over the country, all over the world, here in the Big Apple, the more I appreciate the place where I grew up.

New York presents some entirely new challenges for newcomers, with native Californians being no exception. My goal for this blog is to help anyone from my homeland ease into this strange and beautiful place, using my thoughts and experiences as well as those from other Californians I've found here. I'd also like this to be a place where other Californians, whom I am not yet acquainted with, may post thoughts they've had about what's different (or surprisingly similar) about life here in New York.
